New World Aeternum - Roads

The roads pass featured throughout the Cutlass keys zone in New World Aeternum was a large and incredibly fun undertaking I was asked to do towards the end of development on Cutlass Keys. This was the result of a team wide effort by both Lost Boys Interactive and Amazon Games to create the experience featured in Cutlass Keys. The landscape and terrain featured throughout the Cutlass Keys Roads are the direct result of a collaborative effort between Lost Boys Interactive and Amazon Games. Jonathan Tucci, Jonathan Oakes, and Mia DelCasino were immensely helpful in creating a fantastic foundation of terrain and roads placement that allowed for me to set dress all of the roads featured in this zone. This also included modifying the roads and art utilizing proprietary tools on the Amazon side and I would especially like to thank them for their assistance and hard work.

My contributions were layout and set dressing all of the roads in Cutlass Keys. I would like to note many talented artists on the LBI side assisted with some of their roads leading outside and set dressing leading up to their points of interest. I was incredibly fortunate in assisting in the execution of the desired artistic vision of my Art Director Michael Dunnam and Lead Peter Hartmann. Other responsibilities of mine included ensuring proper collision as well as modifying where ground, vegetation, and decal placement was featured along various poi's and refinement as well as terrain modification using proprietary tools within amazon's engine Lumberyard. The lighting was done by lighting artist Ethan Reeds. I would like to thank both Lost Boys Interactive and Amazon Games for the opportunity to work on such a wonderful project as Cutlass Keys.
